Your Seabeck Community Center (SCC) leaders have decided to delay the community meeting to Saturday May 1st at 2 pm. The meeting will be inside the multipurpose building. Please bring a folding chair. By May 1st we expect more people vaccinated, parking area improvements and more small details completed. At the meeting we will provide SCC history and future goals. We will have a Q & A session. The building will be open for viewing. We will ask for volunteers to sign up to help in various areas. There will be a volunteer position for everyone’s interest and skill set. The heart of a non-profit is its volunteers and we have had a great deal of help from this community – THANKS.
On March 25th we had a walk through the multipurpose building with CKSD Operations and Construction people. Together we identified some work needed related to safety, security, keys, alarms and miscellaneous details. Good news - no major items identified.
All the major systems are now working, this includes: electrical, internet, alarms, water, heating and septic. The septic system is complex with multiple tanks, pumps, lots of pipes and cables, and automated controls.
The Hanson Sign Company has donated an SCC Logo sign. Look for it on the building soon. Randy Hanson is a Seabeck Elementary Alumni, please thank him.
Girls on the Run will be the 1st group to use our Community Center. Their outdoor program starts April 12th and will be on Monday and Wednesday afternoons for 8 weeks.
