We are looking for volunteers to help with a variety of SCEC events so we may provide the best experiences possible for our membership and the Seabeck community. Volunteers are the heart of our Community & Event Center. Your support plays a major role in our success. Volunteers help to accomplish our mission to connect people, expand perspectives and encourage dialog about Seabeck.

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS INCLUDE:

Become a Volunteer and help our Community and Event Center succeed. ****We need your ideas****

We need our members and volunteers to “step up” to take your ideas and make them a reality.

     Do you love working with kids? Set up “Story Time for Tots”, set up craft days, coloring days, and more. (Parent or guardian must be present) Be on the team and help the Children’s Play area become a reality.

     Do you have a green thumb, or do you just like gardening, do you want your ideas to come to life at the SCEC?  You can make a difference and get a group of people together to get that garden space at the SCEC. 

     Are you crafty?  Proud of what you can make?  Bring that talent to the SCEC and hold crafters sessions/classes and show SCEC members how to make one of your favorite crafts. 

     Do you like to dance?  Do you want dance lessons?  Or would you like to see a dance?  A senior’s dance or a teen dance?  We need you to make that a reality.

     Do you like to cook and or bake? Do like potlucks and taste other people’s cooking? Be the lead, get a group together and make it happen.  Who doesn’t like a potluck?

     Do you like to play games? You can set up open game days/evenings.  Bring your own game boards or use what the SCEC already has.  Create Cribbage nights, or Pinochle or Bunko, just to name a few. Get you group together and let’s make it happen. NOTE: We nmoe have American Mahjong group and we have BINGO every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7pm, door open at 6:30. Come join us for some fun.

     Are you interested in getting fit and staying fit?  Do you want Zumba back?  Do you want to set up a walking group?  Cardio class for seniors?  We need your help to get it done.  Note:  The SCEC already has a great Dance exercise class every Saturday and Sunday.  Come and check it out.  

     Do you like to know what’s happening in our local area?  We have a variety of speakers for our monthly “Speakers Forum”.  Fish and Wildlife, Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue, Kitsap Sherriff, Tribal fishery, local authors, hospital staff, .....and the list goes on.

     Are you a computer geek? Do you have that above-average expertise in computer technology.  Do you want to show others How to use email, How to use Microsoft programs like word and excel, How to fully use Google emails and all it has to offer, How to use photo programs and more.  Just another example of what the community might be interested in.

     Do you like outdoor sports?  Get a group together and create Seabeck’s very own Little League Baseball.  Set up cornhole tournaments, pickleball tournaments, horseshoes, bocce ball, croquet, badminton, ladder toss, yard Yahtzee, and more.
